Day 13: Make Easy Money Online From Creating Audio Courses

FREE 30 Day Course

In this post, you will learn how to make money online by teaching people via audio courses!  And guess what?  You don't need any fancy equipment or expensive software.  All you need is a phone.  I know, it sounds too good to be true!  However, I promise you that this side hustle is legit and profitable.

I love this option because it doesn't require you to be behind a camera.  Not everyone is born with the natural ability to talk smoothly and appear relaxed when being filmed. Unless you're set on a niche that requires some sort of video demonstration, you don't need to be the face of your brand.  You could record a lesson in your pajamas and nobody would know!

In a previous post, we talked about a site called Skillshare which is a platform that allows anyone to make a mini class.  It's a side hustle where if you made a new mini course every week for a year, you would be guaranteed to make a full time income.  That could be anywhere from $2,500 to $10,000 a week.  We are going to use the same strategy that we used for Skillshare but on a different platform for audio courses.

I think that teaching is one of the best side hustles out there; I love helping other people.  That being said, teaching can be hard.  One of the challenges that come along with this side hustle is impostor syndrome.  Many budding creators get stuck asking themselves the question ‘who am I to be speaking on the subject?’.  The moral of the story is that there is always going to be someone more experienced, talented, and rich than you.  This is how things always have been and how they always will be; don't let this false mentality get you down!

One of my favorite teaching quotes relates the art of jiu jitsu. They have three steps to becoming a master:  training with someone higher than your level, training with someone at your level, and teaching someone at a lower level.  I love this mentality because it shows that if you want to get better at something, you actually need to teach someone!

Brain Dump

Now that you believe in yourself, it's time for a brain dump.  A brain dump is where you take 5 minutes to write down anything and everything that you are good at (use Worksheet 10 to guide you through this exercise!).   Remember that you do not need to be an expert at something to write it down.  As long as you are better at it than the average human, it belongs on the paper!  It’s not about being the best when it comes to being a teacher.  Instead it's about being relatable and offering experiences that others can relate to.

So, I'll give you some time to think and write.  Don't worry, I’ll be here when you get back so take all the time you need!

Welcome back!  How was your brain dump? I hope you took time to write down a few ideas; it's true that action leads results!  Next, let's take a look at platforms.

Choosing a Platform

For full transparency, I am not getting paid to recommend any of these platforms to you.  I chose these because I think they are user friendly and are a great place to start out.

With any of these platforms, keep in mind that certain skills may be hard to teach through audio alone.  I urge you to hone in on the ideas that can be taught and learned without video or photo assistance.

My favorite platform is  This one is amazing because it's free to use and create with.  In addition, you don't need to be a professional or be certified in something to create an account.  On other platforms this isn't the case; some platforms only allow proficient experts to speak on their sites.

1. People buy experiences.  Listing all of your credentials in your bio doesn't mean anything to someone who is looking to better their relationships, for example.  Tune into what makes you relatable and include that in your bio.

2. Pick one side hustle and go all out.  Focus on one hustle, get really good at it, scale it to the point where it's passive, and then try a new one.  Spreading yourself too thin will not make you any money.

Refer back to your brain dump and think about what your first lesson could be over.  Comment below your ideas!  I’d love to check them out.

I believe that audio courses will be a big part of the future.  They are like a rollercoaster and they have just barely started their uphill climb.  Are you going to hop on this side hustle before it's too late?

For now, I’ll leave you to create.

Peace and God bless.
